Inquiry Report

Introduction

This report focuses on chocking, what happens, and how it can be treated.

Body

Chocking is caused by a piece of food blocking the upper airway. Follow up is really needed to remove the objects quickly. Choking is the mechanical obstruction from the flow of air into the lungs.

If an adult is chocking you may observe the following behaviours, coughing, gagging, and inability to talk. The person cannot speak or cry and breathing is laboured.

Chocking can be treated in different ways. You can give them some back slap or do the Heimlich manuver. You can take them to the hospital and they will cut your throat open and remove the piece of food. If conscious the patient should be allowed to drink water and clean their throat. Coughing is normal with a patient because the throat might clear. There are some different types of back slaps that you could also try.

Conclusion

Choking is not very nice to get because it can lead to the following behaviours, death, or brain damage. Choking can be a simple coughing fit, or a complete blockage of the upper airway might lead to death. Eating slowly can prevent chocking.
