Introduction

This report focuses on what is the best food for runners to get energy, and what are carbohydrates.

Body

Some of the best food for runners are fruit, whole grains, proteins, powder drinks fresh vegetables, and plain yoghurt. Eating a small snack is a good idea about 30 minutes before your activity. Larger snacks should be eaten two hours before, while meals take three hours to digest.

To recover from exercise, carbohydrates should be consumed immediately after exercise. Carbohydrates are bread, sugars, pastas. Within two hours of exercise approximately 0.7 grams of carbohydrates per pound of body weight should be consumed after exercise.

Conclusion

Carbohydrates are important for people that are into sport to give them lots of energy to make them perform better.
